Swimming in the sea - in October!

Our car was good at negotiating the tricky terrain.

The inside of the 'haveli' where we are staying. There are yoga classes on the top roof every morning at 8am. We both had an amazing full body massage on day 2 of our stay- courtesy of Mr and Mrs Yogi. Divine!
Sunset over Udaipur.

Heno Mr Efalant, just walking around the town!

An example of the amazing 'thalis' we've been eating. This one was at Haldiram's in Delhi, but we ate another AMAZING thali at Natraj in Udaipur- all you can eat for 55 rupees. That's about 45p each for a full meal!

Hugh goes native.

In the roof-top restaurant in Udaipur

Strawberry delight in Delhi
We are having an AWESOME time in sunny India!!! So far we’ stayed in Delhi for 4 days (which was frenetic and mental, but still an experience worth having), and now we’re in beautiful Udaipur in the most amazing family-run guest house. The house or 'haveli' in which we are staying is 160 years old and has only been modernised slightly to ensure that all the rooms have an en-suite bathroom. The owner Raju has a roof-top restaurant and all of the meals are home-cooked by himself, his mum or his wife. It is so chilled-out and comfortable here... perhaps we should stay forever!

Future plans:
We are going to travel around Rajasthan for the next 6 days before we move on to Mumbai. Our stay will end on Divali which is bound to be an amazing spectacle!!

After Mumbai we fly to Cochin in the south and stay there for week before we fly to Kolkata to Zeenat's grandfather's house (where her Aunty and cousins still live).

Reading materials:

I picked up ‘The Alchemist’ by Paul Coelho from Delhi (for about a quid) and I’m really feeling the ‘whatever will be will be’ and ‘follow your dreams’ vibes! I think this is the MOST relaxed I have ever felt (in my life) and being quite a stressy person, it’s an amazing feeling!
Hugh has been reading 'The Last Mughal' by William Dalrymple - an amazing account of Delhi in the 1850's. Thanks for lending us this Bhaia!

Sad times and happy times

Hugh on our honeymoon. This was taken on the 3rd day of our trip. The news about Phoebe was still very much in the forefront of our brains, but we tried to enjoy the sunshine and special times as much as possible.

The very last picture ever. I loved this little being so much. She brought me joy and light when the days were dark and it seemed there was no future. Thank you Phoebe Bambina, forever in my heart. X X X
